The 2025 NFL draft started as expected, but then things got really interesting. There were several trades that took place during the night and a few surprise picks.
A slasher type runner who generates strong north-to-south speed-to-power, Hunter has the size and explosiveness to be a productive back on most teams’ offenses. He has the ability to create mismatches against linebackers and tight ends in the passing game as well.
Burch is an athletic specimen with the length, twitch and bend to play in odd-fronts, though he projects best as a 4-3 defensive end in the NFL. He’s capable of rushing the passer in both odd and even fronts, but needs to diversify his pass-rush moves and hand usage in order to become a consistent threat.
Walker has the speed and aggression to excel in man-to-man coverage, but his inconsistent anticipation and technique limit him to a depth/special teams role in the NFL. He could be a starting cornerback if he improves his coverage IQ and discipline.
Evans doesn’t have elite movement skills, but he has adequate NFL-caliber ball skills to hold his own in a zone scheme. He lacks the strength to excel in power schemes, but his pass protection skills have been solid in college (88.0 blocking grade last year).
